The Greengate area of Salford has enjoyed a chequered history from its prosperous textile and dying industry to the many workhouses located in the area. Geographically it’s the location of the triangle of roads formed by Gravel Lane, Chapel Street, and Greengate around which Salford city grew. It was also the home to the now famous and now demolished Bulls Head Inn and what now remains of the Manchester and Salford Baths.
We here at Mi are particularly fond of Greengate as it’s been our home for over a decade now. When we first moved here it was more Fort Apache than Northern Quarter but we’ve grown to love her. Working on the area’s master plan in 2006 allowed us to see the real potential of the area, even though at the time she was a diamond very much in the rough. However, confidence and raw enthusiasm which our friends Ask Real-Estate displayed gave ourselves, Cre8, Out There Events and SKV the confidence to move here.
So, we are now delighted to report that confidence has now returned with gusto. In 2013 work finally began on the Greengate Tower project and even more excitingly in summer 2014 work commenced on-site on the 172,000 sq ft first phase of the Greengate Embankment scheme by Ask Property Developments and Carillion JV.
In preparation for the anticipated 2016 launch of this amazing scheme we were delighted to be asked to join forces once again with long time collaborators Ask Property Developments to create all the Greengate Embankment architectural visualisations and film collateral.
After more than a decade’s worth of successful collaborations with the lovely folk at Ask, we here at Mi are delighted to present the first and second phase of images for the project.
