The Impossible Line mobile game has been updated! We have upped the ante with 100 brand new levels with brain stretching new mechanics and fixed a few pesky advert bugs along the way… oh and did we mention it’s now on Android too! (Apologies for the wait).
It’s a brain trainer meets motor skills development game, so great for all ages from 2 to 82. When we showed the prototype to Chillingo they just got it straight away, the rest is history…
As with everything CGI just because you can do something graphically doesn’t always mean you should, we opted for restraint and simplicity, we favoured game play being the star. We decided to make the game because in short we all loved the concept of a game with nothing on screen! and we all totally bought into the prototype- it just had something that was addictive.
The Game was actually designed by Adam Dickinson our production director’s 2 year old son Oliver, “we had one of those ‘magic slate’ toys free from the colouring bags you get for free on Virgin trains (thanks Richard B they are ace). We sat for hours him drawing a shape, and then wiping and me trying to replicate, the process of it and the magic slate took me back to my days at school and 10p lucky bags where they had a magic slate inside.”
We then took the idea on to a memory puzzler, and it seemed appropriate to theme it school based. We tried water and sand, other mechanics and physics etc, but nothing beat the pure simplicity of chalk and board. Jamie our senior programmer and Jordan our designer and motion graphics guru then took it on to a highly polished level. As for Oliver – he’s trying to not let it go to his head, and is concentrating hard on his life-sized Play-Doh Michelangelo statue and his Ancient Myan dialects.
