Trinity Leeds – Arch Viz

blog-Mi-LandSec-Trinity-leeds-arch-viz-land-securities06 copyLand Securities Trinity Leeds shopping centre already has some interesting facts and figures to its name; 4 floors, 1,000,000 sq foot of prime retail and home to 120+ shops, bars and restaurants. All this and the fact that Trinity was 90 per cent pre-let ahead of it’s March 21st opening makes for an impressive CV.

The architecture and design is no less impressive. A 3,716 m2 (40,000 sq ft) glass dome is the centrepiece of Trinity East. Designed by SKM Anthony Hunts, it’s 1902 glass panels rise 30.5 m (100 ft) above street level and lead architect duties were handled by the internationally renowned practice Chapman Taylor. All this has produced an exceptionally unique design language fitting for Land Securities flag ship retail development.

However, these figures are even more impressive when you consider that Trinity Leeds has provided 3,000 jobs to the local area, is the only major retail development currently under construction in the United Kingdom and the only new retail development to be completed in 2013.

Interestingly, Trinity Leeds also plans a programme of permanent and public art in the centre. Projects already undertaken include the 2.8 Hours Later film project in November 2011 run in conjunction with local production companies and Everyman Cinemas.

Mi was privileged to be involved with Land Securities from the early inception of the project, until the proud day of opening on March 21st 2013. Mi has provided imaging and film collateral for planning, marketing and Leasing Requirements.

A collaborative relationship with Chapman TaylorDSemotion and our client Land Securities has seen Mi deliver 100+ CG images and over 30 minutes of HD film for the scheme. Given our proud status as one of the North west’s premiere creative production studios, we feel our own figures while perhaps more modest are no less impressive given their context.

You can have a look at some of our favourites on the Mi projects page.
